For three verbs /forget/, /remember/, and /regret/, the 'potentiality'/'performance' distinction becomes extended into the past so that there is a temporal difference between the two constructions.

这里的“ becomes extended into the past”是什么用法？为什么becomes能接一个过去分词从句？没见过这种用法。

你可以理解为extended被动语态作为形容词

专八来解答一下。没有过去分词从句这种说法。从句的种类按照其在主句中所担任的句子成分来划分，如定语从句状语从句等。再说了，“ extended into the past”都不是一个句子啊，怎么能够是从句呢？这句话的主语在哪里？
Become大体上等于be，可作系动词。因此这里是明显的系表结构。

主系表结构动词+ed也可以做形容词…
